Walks

Enjoy a walk through the Leicestershire countryside. We have many local walks to choose from and being in the heart of a 200 acre arable farm we have 2 miles of private roads, grass strips and paths to stroll along. In the summer you can walk through neatly mown tracks in the cornfields and really get to grips with nature! Rabbits and hares abound, the local buzzard has adopted us and keeps a keen eye on all goings-on, and you may even catch a glimpse of a fox, an owl or even a badger.

WiFi

Just can't leave that laptop at home? We have wireless internet so whether here for work or play you will be able to pick up your emails in your cottage.

Holistic treatments

Treat yourself or a loved one to a relaxing treatment.. Choose from Reiki, Indian head massage, Tibetan head massage, Emotional Freedom Technique or a soothing Hot Stones massage - all in the privacy of your own cottage. Relax and enjoy!

Catering

Don't want to cook for everyone? Our award-winning caterer, Sally Gold, will deliver mouth-watering meals for you to serve yourself or alternatively she will come and cook a formal meal in The Refectory (groups of 16 and over). Also the excellent local pub, The Black Horse in Appleby Magna, will deliver freshly prepared meals to your front door. So if you want your large family party to be fully catered for or need self catering near Drayton Manor before you enjoy a day at the theme park, then we can accommodate your needs.

Harvest trips

At harvest time go with Jean to deliver tea to the cornfield. You will be driven off road in a 4WD across the fields and see a combine harvester close-up. You may even be invited up into the cab for a peep!Children love it - of course dads have to come along to keep an eye on them - at least that's their usual excuse!

Bicycle Hire

How energetic are you feeling? We have bikes for you to hire (adult only) to explore the local countryside and villages. We have routes of various lengths for you to follow. Children are welcome to bring their own bikes (there are 2 miles of private traffic-free roads surrounding the cottages) and we have a shed to park them in.

Barbeque

A balmy evening, the setting sun, a cool beer or a glass of wine - and the smell of juicy steaks or tasty sausages sizzling on the barbeque. Just ask Jean and she will wheel a portable barbeque to your door. A barbeque in the evening is perfect for self catering near Drayton Manor after a long day enjoying the thrills of the roller-coasters. (The butcher at the bottom of the drive sources his meat from neighbouring farms - his bacon and sausages are to die for!!)

TV. VCR. CD. DVD Player

A lazy evening in? Each cottage has a TV, CD player, DVD and a VCR - you can choose from our video library of over 100 titles.

Games, etc

Children with boundless energy, Mum and Dad want a rest? We have plenty of board games, bats and balls and a large lawned area to run off all that surplus energy while you relax in comfort knowing they are safe and busy. If all else fails we have over 50 children's videos.
